I Surrender Awl to JESUS

1 Corinthians 1:1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

Like Paul we servants and belong to Christ.  That “mark” that Jesus “Our Master” has placed on us makes us “HIS” slave and therefore we do exactly what HE says for us to do.

Jesus says in

Matthew 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.

FAITH

FORSAKING ALL I TRUST HIM

Once there was a beautiful two story house on Hussion Street and in that house lived a mom and her three children.  Well it was pretty early in the morning before the mom woke the children for school so the mom made her a cup of coffee then went and sat in her back porch to drink her coffee before she awakened the children for school.  She had two boys and one girl.

On this particular morning the daughter and the youngest son awakened and realized mom was not in the house. So, they followed the scent of coffee to the porch.  Upon meeting mom they all turned and realized the door was covered with smoke.  Well a neighbor who just so happened to be driving on his way to work saw the flames quickly called 911 and rushed to the house.   He grabbed the fire hose to extinguish as much as he could.  Within minutes, the firemen were dispatched to the house and arrived fairly quickly.

As they began to frantically put out the fire, the mom realizing the child was still in the house, began rushing to get into the house. She screamed, “my son is upstairs still – he was left upstairs sleeping!”  As she was trying to get them to let her go in, a vision came to the upstairs window; it was her son still a bit sleepy and groggy.    As one firefighter was retracting the ladder, other firefighters were blocking spectators. One of them noticed that he recognized the family as well as the boy from the window.  He immediately began talking to him and said to the boy, “it’s me Jason- Mr. Alson”.  Now what many people below didn’t know was that the firefighter was also the boy’s Sunday school teacher.  The lesson the teacher had been teaching the class about was FAITH- Forsaking All I Trust Him.  The teacher/firefighter shouted out the word “FAITH” and immediately the boy became teary.  He then told him “I want you to jump to me”.  Fear was in the face of the young boy as well as the bystanders.  The firefighter shouted again “FAITH” as he was waiting and hanging on the ladder outside the window. Just a few feet away, the boy took a huge leap and landed into the arms of his teacher and firefighter.

The firefighter/teacher used his lesson from his class in an immediate way and he was not implying that he was a god or GOD.  His intent was simply to get the young man to focus on the lesson and use it for the moment.  However the example applies very much to US.

Are you trusting GOD today?! Yes, it’s one day at time.

This pandemic has hit “Our World, Our Country, Our State, Our City, Our Town, Our Subdivision, Our Street, Our House, with a Big Mohammed Ali fist and we have been so affected – but my loves…don’t lose FAITH! GOD got us!!!

Just think of yourself as the little boy in the story.  Think of how JESUS wants us to trust Him with humility and love like the children He speaks of:

Matthew 19:14: But JESUS said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

The humility and innocence of a child is the most beautiful thing.  Children don’t question or waiver when it comes to having faith in people.

In the story that fellow trusted his fireman teacher and just jumped into his arms without a question.  That little boy had faith in his teacher/fireman and knew that he would catch him.

That is how we are to be with GOD.

That’s the faith we need to have during these difficult and challenging times of COVID-19 and all of the other things that are wailing around.  Yes, as Christians our faith has been tried and tested. But don’t allow satan to disrupt your focus.  God wants you to know that  HE is never leaving, dropping, or forsaking you.  Listen to this and allow Him to speak to you through this song.

GOD is a better catcher than the teacher/firefighter.  HE never wants us to worry about figuring it out alone. But to depend on HIM to help us through.  So, I want you to think on that as you travel through the week and remember the five letters of  FAITH and the key words that are attached.

Forsaking All I Trust HIM

Heart Trouble 101

Margie is not a doctor or a nurse, so she cannot diagnose diseases or ailments of the body or mind. But I do have a few family members who are.   So I’ve been told typically when a person is having shortness of breath or chest pains it sometimes attributes to a heart problem.   When there is a “heart problem,” usually a doctor prescribes medication; if it’s extreme, they sometime suggest heart surgery.  When discussing these heart issues with the family, the patient may say “I have heart trouble.”

WORTHY ARE YOU

Worthy are You

Do you realize there are times that we don’t give ourselves powerful encouraging affirmations? We become shrunk by harsh words, self-hate, the feeling of being judged, and sometimes even feeling invisible.

My question is, who is telling you this? That voice…who is it? Is it your mom, dad, boyfriend, husband, your boss, or even yourself? Do you get weird looks from people you don’t even know? Are the people you love not seeing you for who you really are?

Acting Like Jesus

Hey My Loves,

Last week it was suggested that you all spend some quiet time in GOD’s presence meditating and giving him your attention.  I know you did – me too!

So to keep in line of our continuous goal, we have some good meat to #ChristianGirlsChat about.

Have you ever heard:

“You Don’t Act Like a Christian!”

We’ve all heard at one time or another – They don’t act like a Christian! Maybe you’ve said it about someone or it was possibly sent in your direction. Well, don’t be sad, because if you are practicing the Will of God you will hear it one time or another.

Let’s start with the basics:

CHRISTIAN (noun): a. One who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ. b. A member of the Church of Christ …

We all may put that definition of Christ-like behavior differently.

Jesus gave a perfect example on how the word should be interpreted.  HE being the Word is the example and not only did HE give the example, but He taught us how to make it happen.  Christian behavior is not something that happens automatically.  It takes time, patience but especially prayer and self-awareness to be more like HIM.

Sisters, when we women birth a baby, adopt or help rear a child – from the moment that baby is born, we don’t expect that newborn to feed itself, change its diaper or walk and talk do we?  Why? Because we know that is unrealistic.   According to society, a baby/child is not considered “mature” until he or she is 18 years old.  Then are they expected to display adult behavior.  However (those of us who have reared one or two) still have low expectations of them at that age.  LOL right?!!  If you know like I know it sometimes takes 20 years for some babies to begin displaying adult behavior.

Since we are so aware of that then we also should practice the same type of grace, patience and understanding for our brothers and sisters in Christ.  Some of “us” tend to mature quicker than others and they need our behavior to be that of when we are handling a baby.  Many of us come to Jesus with a great deal of baggage. But GOD with His miraculous ability does surgery to the heart to get them to the ‘baby cycle’ (through baptism).

Please let’s keep that in mind and not be so eager to judge the “new babe”, or have unrealistic expectations of them in order to see how they measure up.

Don’t forget GOD is not finished with “me” yet!  Either!  ☺

With that said:  Let’s prepare for battle.

1 Peter 1:13-16 13. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14. As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance. 15. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16. Because it is written, Be ye holy, for I am holy.

Peter is telling us to get rid of whatever it is that’s keeping you from running your Christian race.

What are you tripping over?

Trash it and prepare for action – be prepared to focus on Christ.

When we get distracted just remember to pivot and refocus!

1 Peter 2:1-2.  1. Wherefore laying aside all malice and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings. 2. As newborn babies desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby.

In order for this to happen there are a number of ways to feast because the more you do, the more you will want to do.

How about joining a Bible Study?  Send me a note because I have some recommendations.

Jesus said we are to LOVE each OTHER.

Have a listen below:

Love One Another

1 Peter 4:8-9 8. And above all things have fervent charity (love) among yourselves: for charity (love) shall cover the multitude of sins, 9. Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

Jesus made it Very clear to his disciples that we must LOVE one another.

John 13:35  By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Think of how a paternal or maternal physical family loves each other and look out for each other are we not be more than that being a part of the Body of Christ.

Ephesians 5:25.  Husband love your wives – as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it.

Husbands and wives should submit to one another and train their children to be obedient towards their elders and kind to their peers.

Love makes it easy to strive for unity.

It comes automatic when we practice the teaching that we read in

Galatians 5:22-23 (which embodies all the attributes of love) 22.  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23.  Meekness, temperance, against such there is no law.

Have you ever noticed that in all the letters of the New Testament LOVE is the driving force?

It so is!!!  Go see!!!

In doing GOD’s Will and practicing Love, do not for one second believe that you will not be tried and tested.

1 Peter 4:12-16 12. Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you. 13. But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy 14. if ye be reproached (criticized) for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of GOD resteth upon you; on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified 15. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men ‘s matters. 16. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glrofify God on this behalf.

Keep in mind that Jesus faced rejection, ridicule, and ultimately the Cross.

Jesus says rejoice when you partake in HIS sufferings.  It is an honor to suffer for Christ.

The devil is seeking you and you can resist him.  All Christians are experiencing the sufferings along with you.

So take it as an honor to suffer along with Christ.

1 Peter 5:8-9 8. Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom he may devour: 9.  Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

You are no longer a prisoner of satan.

Do you all remember The Fugitive with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones?

Jones was determined to capture Ford and he was not going to give up.

Think about it: when a prisoner escapes – a manhunt is out and they do not stop until they capture the fugitive.  That’s how satan is about you. But you have the Blood of Jesus covering you, and with that you can resist him!

Do GOD’s work and when we do HIS work GOD will do all things good in our lives.

Remain faithful

2 Peter 3:14.  Wherefore beloved seeing that ye look for such things be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot and blameless.

Remember if we want to grow and mature (like the baby) and be further in our Christian walk with Jesus we need to begin making small changes today.

WE can begin  by taking bits of time in our day to spend time with GOD.  Make a point to spend time in HIS Word by praying, memorizing and meditating.

Take some time fellowshipping with your Christian Sisters.  Make that a Priority.

If we are faithful to his word and practice loving we will grow daily and become More Like JESUS – just faithful living – every second, every minute, every hour, every day – 4 JESUS

You Can Do It!!!

POP (Power of Prayer)

POP

Power of Prayer

In my last post I asked you to consider (3) questions: 1. What do you need?  2. Where are you in your spiritual race/walk and (3) How can it be made better?

In considering the intent and vision of my conversation with you I believed regarding question no. 1 your answer would be JESUS.  The answers to the second and third questions will be more detailed in the response.  Well let’s address that.

Our need to follow Jesus should be our primary focus as we go through this “Beautiful Life” that GOD has given us.  HE expects us meet each day with a positive attitude and an abundance amount of Joy.

Galatians 5:22 – But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, faith…

and

James 1:2 – My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.   Not only are we to focus on our walk, but help others along the road as well – which leads to the spiritual race we are in and how we can improve.

Personally I find that it has been beneficial for me to begin my day with Prayer.  I also have come to realize that you don’t have to kneeling on the floor by your bed to pray (not that it’s not a great place) but you can pray anywhere.  You can be driving down the road, sitting at the bus stop, walking in the park or even in the shower.  I’ve prayed almost anywhere even at 30,000 feet in the air.  LOL

The definition of PRAYER is:

 a) an address (such as a petition) to GOD in word or thought and

 b) an earnest request wish, or express gratitude.

I grew up hearing about prayer, being told to pray, but as a little kid you don’t understand the true meaning until you begin praying for yourself.  My first real memory of a heavy prayer is when my grandmother was deathly ill and eventually passed away.  I remember going to the funeral and my Mom crying (of course something’s are a bit foggy).  Such as the place I was standing or who was around me due to me being so young.  Then I remember seeing her praying a prayer of Thanksgiving for allowing GOD for giving GranMa Aggie to her.

Memories of significant moments leave profound stamps for us.  They validate the importance of what GOD wants us to remember and use possibly at a later time.  I believe this this story is one of those instances that I was meant to share with you. I needed to remember MY MOM praying through a very difficult moment in her life so that it would play a part in how and why I would embrace my own prayer life.  I know when we pray we are placing a petition at GOD’s feet and usually we are requesting something – and that is exactly what we are supposed to do.

James 1:5 – If any of you lack wisdom, Let him ask of GOD, that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him.

and

1 John: 5:14 – And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, If we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.

Praying is a wonderful avenue that GOD set up for us to talk directly to HIM.  HE wants us to visit with HIM and use this venue whenever we feel the need.  I find it so good for the soul and I guarantee if you use it – it will soothe your soul.

A healthy prayer life is essential to our spiritual growth, but it’s not the only thing we MUST do for spiritual growth.  There are other items that help and we will get into that later.

Remember praying is just having a conversation with your Father and telling HIM what you want.  Have you ever wanted to talk to GOD, and didn’t know what to say? I like attributing that to talking to a friend on the phone.  Call them – ‘Hey Jo, are you busy’,  (remember God is never too busy for us). Then start the conversation.  Make sure you tell HIM how wonderful HE is and just how happy you are that HE loves you.  Tell HIM you are grateful for being alive and for your family.  Tell GOD about your day (good or bad), but in the end of the prayer don’t forget to Thank HIM.  Oh yes it’s that easy to talk to OUR FATHER.

I will share something with you that I like to use that really helps to pray often and that the Bible App.  Oh what a wonderful tool especially if you don’t know where to begin.  Just Google it and many different Bible prayer apps will jump on the screen of your phone.   LOL

Praying is essential for you Christian Sister.  Our children, grandchildren need to know that we are talking to GOD and that we can tell him what we are concerned about or fears, the world, our finances our children or even our spouses and HE won’t repeat it to anyone.

Oh by the way I believe in selfish prayers – yes! You can tell GOD what you want or need.

Remember to pray for others, even your enemies ☺.  He tells us in

Matthew 5:44 – “But I say unto you, Love our enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”

GOD KNOWS YOUR HEART!  When you are praying you can be pouring out your heart.  I like thinking of it as if GOD is scooping me up in his arms, cradling me and whispering in my ear (through HIS Word).

Hebrews 13:5 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

So My Loves, let’s take out some time for the next few days and focus on talking to our FATHER and giving HIM a few moments of our time.  HE will love visiting with you.

1 Peter 4:12-13

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you. 13 – But rejoice inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, that, when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad and also with exceeding joy.

Philippians 2:3

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Inspire

Luke 22:32

But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

That’s why I came up with the idea: Christian Girls Chat.  Note: There will be nothing off limits and answers to questions (if there are any) will come from the WORD of GOD. Now, do not expect perfection from be because I am not. But, you can expect me to be loving, truthful, caring and honest.

As I begin this journey I want to first say Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You to GOD for all of the blessings that HE has bestowed on me in these short years I have been able to be here on this side of life with you my loves.

I am so very thankful to my beautiful daughters who encouraged me to start this blog after I dragged them to many Ladies retreats, Bible classes and Ladies Day Programs that I was invited to speak.

Now that we’ve gotten acquainted, I want to give you something to think about:

  1. What do we need daily as we walk this beautiful life that GOD has given us?
  2. Where are you in your journey to doing what makes you happy? And in the mist of you creating happiness for yourself, do you have the JOY in your spirit that shows it off? (remember joy and happy are totally different)
  3. Lastly, what can you do to make that happen?

Those are the three start-up questions to stimulate your mind.  Be thinking about those questions and of course shoot me a response if you like.  My ears are perked!

Each time you read my blog I will give you one (1) thing to work on until we meet again – NO this is not to make you strain LOL

Until we chit chat again be encouraged – Keep your head up and know that GOD got you!

Love you,

A Wonderful Vision

Jlenz Photography

It’s October 2020 and after the continual living through this overwhelming sight that Covid-19 is leaving I was hoping that it would be a memory by now but the realization is that it’s been here for a minute. However we should and always be about “Our FATHER’s Business and over much time I was encouraged to start my Blog. Therefore I begin Officially today, October 13th, which also happens to be My Birthday. It will be for Sisters that Love the LORD and its entitled Christian Girls Chat. My total intent is to be Encouraging, to Share information with Sisters in the community and Uplift, but also remind all to keep their eyes on JESUS.

I begin by sharing something I believe we all need to hear and that is: You Are A Wonderful Vision that GOD created and I believe HE wants me to tell you just that.

Psalm 139: 1-13-14 as the reference I use to show you just that.  13 – For thou has possessed my reins; thou has covered me in my mother’s wound. 14 – I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are thy works and that my soul knoweth right well (KJV).

You, My Sister are not an accident, you were not “Unfortunately” made, but as previously stated GOD carefully and intentionally made you PERFECT.

Please know that GOD created “US” with’ Distinct Detail’.  Oh How Important You Are!!!  GOD took extensive time and patience when HE created Woman.  Think of all the beautiful details that are apart of Just Being a Woman (I know you smiled).  So I share that so you can be thinking of all the ways you can imagine how Blessed and Wonderful you are: write them down, tell yourself you are fantastic and My Loves be prepared to be inspired to be Your Best You – so until next time I will be praying for you.

Have a GOD inspired day. Toodles!
