SAINTS NEVER ACCEPT (we can’t) PRAISE

TEXAS We Have a Problem!!!

On Thursday February 11, 2021 National Meteorologist predicted that come Monday, February 15, 2021 a Winter Artic Blast would be hitting Texas the Big State!!! Did you hear me say Big 😂. The understatement was that there would be snow, sleet, freezing and immense cold weather throughout the entire state. Even with the simple explanation, no one anticipated the ultimate outcome. No Texas resident would be immune to the dilemma and we were to prepare to be hit hard.

Once the storm hovered over on Monday- lights disappeared for some and many more woke or were awaken to a freeze in our homes that took ones breath away – literally. Most of us were by all accounts unprepared for what we were in store for; and it was only just the beginning.

The first night many were snuggled and busy trying to stay warn.  Some had fireplaces, some had backyard heaters and others even had huge foresight prep with a generator.  After the first night (and day) – if you had access to a television or internet you could see neighbors looking out for each other in many different ways.  Those acts came in the form of inviting some into their homes if they were without electricity and water to the simplest of offering dog food to them for their pets.  This Blast caught so many Texans off guard.

The Big State of Texas was brought to its knees.  See, here in Texas, we usually don’t have Artic Blast issues. What we normally have, are extremely spike heat issues, not wintery cold and freezing temperatures. So, naturally, Houston, Austin, San Antonio and many surrounding areas weren’t ready.  From Abilene to Odessa and little towns in their vicinity of the belt are used to these conditions periodically during the winter seasons.  They can and do weather such storms because of their preparedness over the years.  They belong to a nationwide grid as oppose to the majority of Texans who are dependent on the Epcot grid, but this is not about that.  The Key word of the day is Ready!

Being Ready is equivalent to being Prepared. Before being married I was so dependent on my parents and I must say I had a “mountain man” for a Daddy. He was a serious country boy. People call it “intuitiveness”. My Dad could make things happen. Remember I’m a Daddy’s girl. So once I left home I was expecting my husband to be exactly like that, but he is not. Now that is not “shade” as the kids say, but he is/was much younger and my dad lived a very long life and experienced great things. I say that because after being married a few years, I think something’s kicked in and I saw my husband pretty calm during our 1st hurricane together. Once we moved into our home things fell into place. I never had to worry about water, snacks or firewood, etc. GOD was working it out and we didn’t at the time understand. We were very young and had to make things happen to ensure the safety of our children and our home. We had these little girls that were “our responsibility” and we were in this together. Things were different from being at home with my parents but all was falling into place. I saw my husband in action that I’d never witnessed before. He was prepared for that hurricane – yes I was impressed. Now back to the word Ready. Years ago, a brother from church (whom we have become extremely fond of) suggested that my husband get a generator for blackout storms hurricanes or other disasters. When my husband purchased one (oh am I most grateful for that thing) we had no clue that we would need it so soon. And to top it off, we are still in the middle of a World-Wide Pandemic. Even before the storm was predicted like so many others I have continuously maintained the “necessities” at a certain level. That was to our mental and physicaladvantage. I remember going to the store on the 11th to get a couple of loaves of bread. Now this is days before the storm – and the shelves were wiped out. (By the way I did find some at another store) 😍

I share that because it is so important to keep “necessities” because you don’t kmow when we are going to have a storm – so have items you will need on hand and replace them periodically.  This brings me to our Spiritual Readiness!!!?

The Word of God says in

Ephesians 6:11-17

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Don’t neglect to keep in your mind that satan wants to do you the same as he wanted to work on Peter as Jesus said,

Luke 22:31  And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

He wants to destroy you.  As he being the evil one does not want you equipped, but he uses all vices – especially some of those you care for or deem of that add to your life that may distract you from GOD and HIS will for you.  Now you ask how can I not allow satan to do that?  That is a wise question –

2 Timothy  2:15 – Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Keep your mind focused on HIM.  Also be focused on doing things that will bring HIM Glory.  A great example would be in

Matthew  25:34-40 when Jesus spoke:

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? orthirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Let’s never miss an opportunity to help those who are in need and keeping your mind in HIS Word and doing things that will bring Glory to HIM is being prepared and ready as a child of GOD.

Remember – Trials will dart your doorstep, storms will sweep across your path and when they do SNAP!  Even in those hard times we can remember the goodness of GOD and stay mindful of all the Love and Grace HE grants us on a daily basis, so never miss an opportunity to SNAP!!! – Saints Never Accept (we can’t) Praise.  Always remember HIS Mercy and when those Tribulations Trickle Through Your Thoughts or Your Tribe Praise HIM .  Oh, rest assured during that Arctic Blast there was a time or two when I had to SNAP.  The house may have been a bit brisk at times and very icy outside, but there was always a moment to SNAP!!!

So, with Love and Prayers for you all we will continue as I am here to Encourage, Inspire and Uplift you through your Spiritual Artic Blast.

Love,
